Casey, MD, FACS joined the American College of Surgeons in July 2004 as founding director of the Operation Giving Back program.  In this capacity, Dr. Casey has been responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the College’s volunteerism initiative, which was created to facilitate humanitarian outreach to surgical patients from all levels of the surgical profession in both domestic and international arenas. A Massachusetts native, she received a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, taught high school chemistry and physics, and worked at the Boston Museum of Science before matriculating to Dartmouth Medical School.  She completed her general surgery training at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA.
